Although cellular towers and Wi-Fi connections are springing up across the globe and multiplying rapidly, the connections they provide are often the first to be lost when an environment falls under siege, either by nature or by an adversary. Satellite communications are often relied upon but also experience latency, lack in coverage, and possible outage.
Survey teams are deployed into the field collecting observations and intelligence data where ground personnel may be operating with limited, disrupted communications, or completely disconnected. Current processes require that the findings then have to be manually pulled together to make the proper decisions for recovery.
Rather than disrupt the flow of information in either direction, solutions built on MarkLogic follow a very simple path of reason: if a connection is detected, information is pushed via uploads from the device and downloads from headquarters without being prompted to do so. When the connection drops, so does the loading—until a new connection is established. Nothing gets lost in between.
Join us to discuss how MarkLogic’s Enterprise NoSQL Database allows your team to become familiarized with disconnected survey methods, while operating within a simulated “deployed” environment to which they will be required to make observations on a series of targeted survey locations which may have varying data points.
